Town with Royal title
Muros
On 29 September 1906, King Alfonso XIII granted the town of Muros the title of “Very Humanitarian”, in recognition of the solidarity of its neighbours in the rescue of the 544 crew members of the Cardenal Cisneros (28/10/1905). It is the third title that still retains the official shield.
The anguish of those who wait. At the end of the promenade of the port of Muros, is the sculpture of “A velliña”, a work by Ramón Conde as a tribute to the sailors who have the sea for a cemetery, but also to those who wait for them, especially their wives, with their hearts shrinking and their eyes anchored on the horizon.
